2024 - Another three plays

We’ve produced three new plays so far in 2024.

"The Fox and the Ghost"

showed Councillor Fox of the ESCC Pension Committee argue for the merits of investing his Pension Fund in fossil fuels, while Seaford disappears below the sea and his surviving pensioners are starving on the higher ground. Played for Divest East Sussex demonstrators on 6th Feb at County Hall.

“Insure Our Futures” is a campaign to put pressure on the big insurance corporations who enable the oil companies by providing the necessary insurance. We devised a new play for this event called.

"The Insurance Broker's Tale"

It was exciting to perform this play twice in Leadenhall Market in the City of London, on 29th February, outside the pubs where the insurance brokers do their deals with their clients. On the next day we performed again to an appreciative audience in Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Brighton.

"Dance of the Giants"

Dirk Campbell’s made two more giant puppets, and had the idea of a dance for three giants, representing the Global South, the Global North, and the Earth itself. The theme was neo-colonialism and global justice. Don’t worry, it manages to be funny. This dance symbolising friendly global trading turns nasty, with the Global North cheating. “The Dance of the Giants” had its first outing as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival on May 11th.

The “Insure our Survival” actions organised by Extinction Rebellion in October 2024 brought us out again onto the streets of London. We performed “The Insurance Brokers Tale” for an appreciative audience of marchers, when the procession ended outside the Royal Exchange in the City of London.
